Scots in Florida

Have been partying all day and all night - Jean has been keeping us very busy seeing all of the alligators and meeting all of her friends. We've on an airboat on St. John's river and visited Forever Florida ranch (old Florida). We've met some fellow Scots and invited for cocktails before we leave Florida on Friday.

The Muir House

"This is a photo of the house on Gilbert Muir’s ranch, The Kite. It is now a dude ranch called the Lazy L & B. It’s fun to imagine G-ma Jeanie and all her brothers and sisters growing up there! "

The Scots are here

Hello from Casper. Just wanted to tell you that the Scots are here. We are having great fun visiting with Douglas and Margaret. They are very loveable and good natured. It is fun just to listen to them. Margaret has a beautiful lilt and Douglas has the true brough. I need to record them! Pam and I hope to take them to Dubois so they can see the country that their cousin (Grandma Jeanie) grew up in after she left Scottland.
Bill and Maureen came for the weekend. Douglas had an Aunt Phemie, who our Aunt Phemie was named after, so he had a great time seeing little Phemie, as well as Peyton. They are entertaining in themselves!!
We had fun cracking open some rock oysters that Jesse had sent form Seattle. Thanks Jesse!
Everyone is well here. Love to you all.

Happy Birthday Mom/Myrt!

Happy Birthday to Myrt! Can you believe she is __ years old? I'll let her tell the number of years, if she wants! :^)

All is well in Naples, FL - season now, so quite crowded - really lets you appreciate staying off the roads and out of the stores... But I must say we probably had the best weather in the nation this weekend!

I'm taking some classes at UF to get my Educational Technology certifications - Just finished two and start two tomorrow (online). We used blogs in one class - mine is at mmcoleman5405. Sheitan is well - she still sleeps a lot, but when awake, she is pretty energetic for a 14-year old Husky!

Keep checking back!
Marie

I'm Here

Do you believe it? I'm on a blog! Wonder of wonders!
The hospital just PASSED their accredidation inspection. I am so relieved! Keith has been busy getting budget numbers together for new schools in our county. I hope we can both relax a little bit now.
Getting ready for Douglas and Margaret to visit us. It will be fun to have our Scottish relatives here in Wyoming. Douglas is Grandma Jeanie's 1st cousin. Wonder what they will think??
Keith is off to run with Pippen and I will meet up with them along the way.
Love to all
Terry

Brilliant.

I think this is a great idea. And so I'm posting here to prove it :) The latest news with me is that I have a new job. I start on the 14th of March. I'll still be playing internet nerd, but this time for clearwire.com. They're a new company that provides internet service wirelessly. It should be quite the adventure and I'm looking forward to the chance to be proud of my work again.

In smaller but more entertaining news, I'll be traveling to Canada next weekend to do some snowboarding at Whistler. I haven't been there yet but I've heard it's one of the most amazing places to ski, and will be hosting the 2010 winter olympics. So it should be a lot of fun.

Come and rest a spell...

Hope you can put yourself on one of these posts for a few minutes and contribute to this "virtual 'family' reunion."

This will only be as interesting as we make it, so hopefully you will want to be a part of this technology adventure!

Please leave a comment and join the 'family' - by invitation only, but you are welcome to suggest guests...

I'm looking forward to using this platform as a way to stay in touch with all of you, given our geographical distance!
