Another New School Year....

It is difficult to believe I'll be starting another new school year (my 15th in Collier County and my 20th in Florida...I've been away from the Cowboy State way too long!). This year is a bit unique in that our post-secondary vocational institution is growing with the addition of a technical high school (9th grade only this year and then adding a new 9th grade each year). I'm privileged to be a part of this new learning environment by taking the role of Media Specialist for both the new high school and the tech center. Since the high schoolers will all get laptops (teachers, as well) and the school is going wireless, there are many opportunities for "out of the box" learning and knowledge-building experiences. Although there is yet to be a replacement for my other job (they promise soon!), I'm forging ahead in my new role as time permits and I've developed a blog for the school which I invite you to visit and subscribe to if you are interested.

a new school year

Well today I started school, so far so good. This semester is going to be alot of work but seems interesting. I am taking a mass media course which i think I am going to enjoy it will be a lot of media in the history type thing and how it affects society, i am also taking a music history class that wil be interesting learning all the different types and what not ( and if I have any trouble I will know who to go to... haha) My day starts at 9 am and ends at 7 pm so they will be long ones but at least I only have to go twice a week. I am going to continue working at the restaurant, I am really enjoying that as well. I have been meeting alot of new people and making alot of new friends. And once again I am moving into a new apartment this one will be closer to Patti and more convinent to the interstate. I just recently hit 200000 miles on the old saturn so I am in the market for a new car but so far shopping is just frustrating :).
